In order to live a superlife we must first start by fuelling our bodies with superfoods! We all know about hyped up superfoods like kale and chia seeds, but I you’ll never guess what else makes the list.

1. Seaweed (aka Nori)

Edible seaweed or ‘Nori’ is one of the best-kept secrets of the ocean! Its chemical composition is akin to that of human plasma, making it excellent at purifying the blood! Nori can also help you avoid iodine deficiency, and if consumed 3 times a week, can assist in keeping your thyroid in check. According to a Japanese study published in the British Journal of Nutrition, eating Nori may also help to reduce cholesterol levels. So start sprinkling toasted seaweed onto your salads and soups, because this superfood is one thing that’s fantastic to get a taste for.

Coconut water is so 2017! Watermelon water is the new up-and-coming super-drink! 5. Starfruit

You’ll have stars in your eyes when you discover the power of this groovy, delish and pretty little fruit. Not only is it rich in potassium and vitamin C but it’s also full of antioxidants and antimicrobial properties, which research has shown play a major role in disease prevention. Starfruit also helps to build collagen for youthful skin, steadies blood pressure, strengthens bones, and is low in sugar! And if that wasn’t impressive enough, it’s also believed to help stop vomiting, diarrhoea and even reduce the symptoms of a hangover! So go on, start nourishing your body with this sizzling super-fruit!

6. Turmeric

You may have seen this golden powder recently invade trendy cafes near you in the form of a ‘turmeric latte’. But are you actually aware of the super-properties that have caused all this hype? The compound within turmeric, curcumin, is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties, cholesterol lowering effects, and cognitive benefits. Curcumin has been linked to a reduced the risk of Alzheimer’s, heart disease, and arthritis. This spice is so much more than a trendy latte, it’s an all-round tasty natural medicine!
