In this week’s SuperLife lesson, Dr Happy has some great suggestions on varying your approach to prevent boredom.

Even the best behaviours and habits can become mundane after a while; and if they do become mundane or uninteresting then they can be less attractive to perform.

This is one of the more common reasons people stop doing what they should be doing, even if it’s helping them.

But the good news is that there’s a relatively simple solution; vary your routines and find new and interesting ways to do things so you’ll continue to enjoy the benefits of health and happiness inducing behaviours.

That’s the fun – and interesting – way to living a Super Life!

How can you do this?

Quite simply, try the following:

  • Set a reminder or a calendar note to vary your routine every 4-6 weeks
  • Find new and exciting ways to do what you want to do (there are, for example, many ways to exercise, and lots of different intermittent fasting techniques and combos!)
  • Vary what you’re doing by doing it at different times of the day, with different people, listening to different music or including different ingredients in your meals
  • Remember, variety is the spice of life and spice is important for a Super Life!
