It’s time to understand your core strengths and utilise them more often.

It’s time to understand your core strengths and utilise them more often.

Now that you have your VIA Strengths Survey report, it’s important to take some time to properly understand what this means (and just as importantly, what it doesn’t mean).

In short, based on your responses to the questions, the VIA Survey has now ranked the 24 strengths it includes in its system, in order from your top strength, that which you find easiest to use and use most often, down to your 24th strength, the one you don’t use quite so often for a variety of reasons.

Please note, these are ALL strengths; even those ranked 23 and 24 are still strengths. The VIA does NOT measure weaknesses. This is important to state because many people look straight to the end of their report and focus on what they think they’re not good at.

But again, what you’re being encouraged to focus on now is what you are good at; what you are, in fact, best at. What makes you your best possible self.

Now with this in mind, you’re more than welcome to focus on any of the 24 strengths, but if you want a simple place to start, beginning with your top 5 makes quite a bit of sense.

Your challenge for this lesson, therefore, is to reflect upon your top 5 strengths, or any other strengths that take your fancy, and answer the following simple questions:

  • How do you currently use these strengths?
  • How could you use them in more situations, more often?
  • And finally, how could you use your strengths specifically to help you achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself in this Super Life program?
