We’ve narrowed down our top tips for this way of life to help you maintain your ‘forever’ goal weight.

We’re sure you’ve realised by now that SuperFastDiet isn’t really a diet, it’s a way of life (aka WOL)! Once you’ve nailed it you can literally take it anywhere, whether you’re working, at the shops, on holidays, socialising, parenting the kids or running between appointments. In fact, there are so many mastery skills to help you maintain your ‘forever’ goal weight we’ve decided to narrow them down to 5 advanced and essential tips, just in case you missed anything so far.

1. No guilt. Hopefully, you’ve already cottoned on to this, but it’s a weird concept to get used to in the weight loss world, so we’re emphasising it here, just in case you still don’t believe it: SFD really is all about ‘no guilt’. If you’re out with friends you can eat the chocolate brownie or have another champagne – you are not on a ‘diet’ seven days a week! If you’re on 2-Day or 3-Day, there are plenty of calories to allow for feasting on your off days, and if you’re on Part-Day there are only so many calories you can usually stomach in eight hours! Well, most days, anyway. You’ve also probably realised by now that throwing in an extra fast day or lean day makes up for any weekend blowouts. So, if you do attack a packet of chips at the movies or munch out on the kids party leftovers in the fridge, so what? You haven’t ‘broken’ this, because it really is a part-time diet, i.e. no guilt during feasting times. #foodfreedom

2. Support = success. Many of you are part of our Facebook group but, if not, it’s really, really worth joining, even if you’re NOT a FaceBooker and that’s the only reason you’re on there. For those who are, or soon will be, it’s worth noting that you can get just as much out of the group as those newbies starting out. It’s an incredibly supportive, nurturing environment and not only will you find inspiration, ideas and motivation in abundance, you will also be providing the same to others which is extremely motivating in itself. Extra tip: You may think you don’t need this anymore but oh, the rewards found in helping others master weight loss, once and for all! #winwinSFD is fully portable, in that you can take it anywhere, because this way of life suits every eventuality a day can throw at you… which brings us to our next point.

3. Take SFD on your travels! No, we’re not saying be mega-strict and sip water while everyone else is having cocktails, we’re saying adopt just a few good habits you’ve learned and you’ll find you really won’t stack on the kgs as you may have done in the past. e.g. you don’t need to scoff ‘all you can eat’ just because it’s included – eat until you’re full! And fresh produce is likely to turn up most places you go, so choose healthy and delish when you can. Or maybe skip breakfast and sleep in – do you really need it? Having said all that, you can just go for it and eat until your heart’s content because when you come home it will come off – easily. This is all about enjoying your new way of life – whatever you choose!

4. One shop can suit all. One of the best tips we can share with you is all about that trolley, and how thinking about our five rules when you shop can really make a difference to the whole family. Buy:

    • fresh
    • lean
    • grainy
    • dairy
    • and with marginal treats thrown in. (You don’t need the snack multi-pack!)
    • And don’t take the kids with you! Getting them used to fresh fruit instead of lollies or air-popped popcorn instead of chips does them as much of a favour as it does you. i.e. if it isn’t in the kitchen, you won’t reach for it.

5. Believe it: you’re never going back. THIS IS IMPORTANT. In fact, read it again, we’ll wait… So many Master Fasters fear putting the weight back on, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned it’s that this really is a forever-weight-loss because it’s a reinvention of diet ‘times’. It used to be that you went on a diet for an extended period of time, then you went off it for a period of time, and, usually, put it all back on. Makes so much sense when you look back on it now, doesn’t it? Nothing. Had. Changed. But now, you simply diet part-time – whenever you choose – and as a Master Faster it’s probably so habitual you barely even think about that fact that you don’t eat breakfast anymore or that Mondays are weekend ‘cleansing’ days. It’s really the secret to the success of SFD and why you WON’T go back, because this is a WOL – for life. And you’ve mastered it, baby.
