The best part for many of us who weren’t too worried about the floss situation was that rare glimpse you had just before the carriage plunged down the tracks. When you stopped at the top of your young world to look down on sensational. And, here at Week 30, it may be time to channel your inner child and do just that, again.
Life can be a bit of a carnival for grown-ups in this busy modern age. Forget the need for rollercoasters, you’re probably on multiple rides right now, e.g. hurtling along to impress the boss and get promoted, navigating the kids through school without sending yourself and the teachers mad, driving your limited finances through a maze of bills and overheads…you’re belted into an array of carriages at any given time, one of them, right now, being the weight loss ride.
The weight loss ride really is a rollercoaster for most people and it can feel like the biggest, scariest one in the park if you’re stuck in outdated modes of dieting. You’re really strapped in, right from the beginning, and you face a difficult, if not almost impossible, climb up unreliable tracks, and, even if you reach the summit, it’s a brief moment of triumph before you plunge back down to the bottom to start all over again.
Not so the SuperFastDiet rollercoaster. It’s a gentle journey: a fast day hill, a feast day slope, a little bump when you break your fast, a smooth crest as you simply do another. But best of all SuperFastDiet leaves you plenty of time cruising higher towards the top where you can take in the views until you eventually simply step off the ride and walk off towards new heights as a Master Faster.
So what do you see, looking back down at that start of the ride as you circle your way up here, towards graduation? What would you say to the person you were as you sat in the carriage to begin? How did you feel at Week 1? After 12 weeks? 24 weeks? And now, with only 6 to go?
How does it feel to be nearing the top of this world, looking down at yourself now, the true ‘sensational’? For whether you’re at your goal weight yet or not, the fact is you have stayed in this carriage. You have taken this ride and seen it through and you have learned so much along the way.
It takes courage to go on a rollercoaster, especially a new one with the scary word ‘diet’ painted on the side, but you did it, all those 30 weeks ago. You took another chance and you are almost at the summit, and if nothing else we hope you’ve learned that the weight loss ride doesn’t have to be tightly belted, have those outdated, rickety old tracks or wind up sending you hurtling right back to where you started.
You really can stay at the top. And on our ride you can still have the fairy floss, too.
