Motivation is bound to waver from time to time. Especially when you’re in the process of making a change to your way of life. This is part of what makes us human. But instead of getting stuck in lack-of-motivation land, it can be useful, at times like these, to take stock and refocus on your priorities. This will help to remind you of why you’re making a change in the first place and help to renew your passion and drive.
Focusing on a clear and meaningful ‘why’ is always important, but so too is focusing and refocusing, over and over again, on what makes this ‘why’ so worthwhile. And that’s our task for this week.
Essentially, this involves revisiting the motivational lesson we covered earlier in the program (in Week 9 of SuperLife – Maximising Motivation – for those of you who’d like to revisit it!)
So quite simply:
- Review all your goals (long, medium and short term), and ask yourself:
Are they still relevant? - If so, list all the pros and cons for each of these goals
- Work hard to maximise and focus on the advantages; AND also to look for solutions to, or other ways of thinking about, the disadvantages. But do this realistically and honestly; if you don’t really believe something will ‘pay’ more than it’s ‘costing’ you’re unlikely to commit to and/or persevere with it
- So again, list as many pros as you can for each of your goals and if you can’t think of enough, or if those you’ve listed don’t seem powerful enough, then review with one of your support people OR possibly consider changing your goals!

And that’s how we take stock and refocus on our priorities, SuperFasters. Wishing you a week of SuperLife wins!
