She’s busy. There’s really no other way to describe it. Jane is a working mother who runs around all week taking her three kids to sport and school while still managing to feed them, keep a clean house and work a busy job.
Unsurprisingly, Jane loves to let her hair down on the weekend and relax after all the mayhem of everyday life, and she does that by indulging in her favourite beverage: bourbon and cola. It’s one of the main reasons she’s been able to stick to this diet, compared to all the others she’s tried: it’s realistic because you can still enjoy the food and drinks you love part-time.
“What I love about SuperFastDiet is you can’t go wrong! It really is unbreakable,” Jane told us. “It’s just purely up to you, there’s not someone saying on Monday you have to do this, on Tuesday you have to do this, and on Wednesday… Forget it. That doesn’t fit into my lifestyle. And on Friday night I can still have a bourbon and coke. I can do that… It’s realistic. It’s something that you can maintain, it doesn’t matter where you are or what you’re doing. It’s easy. And it fits in with my lifestyle.”
Now let’s set the record straight, we don’t love Jane because she drinks bourbon per se, we love her because of her attitude towards life.
“My diet hasn’t changed dramatically,” says Jane. “It’s more that I feel good, I feel lighter and more energetic. The true beauty of this way of life is that I can still enjoy those indulgences and celebrations when they come along! In fact, I think I enjoy my bourbon and cola, and my feast days, and those celebrations more now, because I appreciate them more.”
It’s that whole balance thing really. No one wants to be working all the time, nor would most people wish to party all day every day and lose their hold on reality. It’s the ability to live a full life, where indulgence is enjoyed and really appreciated, in realistic doses.
But yes, it is a part of a super life, this indulgence thing, and apparently, it’s great for your mental health to enjoy socialising too!
“It’s so important to include fun, friends and celebration in your life; especially if you’re working hard to achieve something like health and/or weight loss goals,” reveals SuperFastDiet resident psychologist Dr Tim Sharp, a.k.a Dr Happy. “Many people mistakenly think these will be distractions; but by creating positive emotions they can actually boost our motivation and inspire us to persist and to persevere.”
So, go ahead and indulge in moderation on a Friday night with your partner, family or friends and remember: you don’t have to give up the things you love on SuperFastDiet, you just indulge in them part-time… and, like our Jane, you may find that makes you enjoy them even more.
