Like a caterpillar clinging to a branch, forming a cocoon and reinventing itself, you’ve done the transformational SuperFastDiet journey and now you’re emerging, a fully-fledged butterfly complete with beautiful, if invisible wings. And so, get ready to show off your new colours! It’s flutter time.
At the beginning of this journey a lot of we Super Staffers felt like caterpillars, boring little grubs munching away in life’s garden, insignificant, overlooked and not really in control of the constant feeding behaviour we were performing each day. We blended into the landscape and kidded ourselves that we kind of liked it that way; camouflage was king. Then we began SFD and found ourselves committed to cocooning, undergoing a chrysalis, a life-changing transformation that re-taught us how and when to munch. How to shed our bumpy exterior. How to find colour and all that pretty, fluttery feel-good stuff that other people seemed to possess with ease. It’s hard to believe it will ever happen at the time, that full transformation, especially when your little cocoon gets buffeted about, bugged by life and other creatures in the garden.
Turns out transformation isn’t always easy. Funny that.
But we did it – and now so have you! You clung on to the end and now the emergence has begun and it’s time to unfurl and flutter away, but how to do so and where to start? It’s not like it comes with a handbook, this whole, ‘um, ok… now I’m some kind of butterfly’ school of thought, so here’s some tips to help you test those wings and really take flight:
- You may not have quite realised it yet but you really have made a major change here. A really, positive, amazing and life-impacting one. You’ve done something brilliant for your health, most likely extending your life-span and preventing all sorts of issues in the future, plus you’ve switched off the feelings of failure that so often come with carrying excess weight. So unfurl. Shed that old caterpillar skin of self-consciousness, because that isn’t you anymore. You have wings, figurative but nonetheless, and they represent the fact that you carry a sense of freedom with you now. Success, empowerment. All those good things you thought you couldn’t have but now you can. Realise it. Embrace it and get ready to…
- Cloak yourself in new colours! Out with the drab, in with the bold and the beautiful. Let the outside reflect the inside and the inside the out! Let all that radiant success and happiness shine. Because it’s a funny thing about transforming your life for the better – you become an inspiration. People want what you’re having and now you have an extraordinary opportunity to empower others and uplift. So spread that magic butterfly dust far and wide. It only lifts you higher and higher as you…
- In fact, don’t just fly, soar. What else can you achieve now that you’ve conquered this? What other dreams, ambitions, goals stir within? Achieving something as significant as this may inspire you to transform in other areas of your life. A new job? A big holiday? A course/degree/artistic project? It may be time to re-think your limitations because you’ve just proven to yourself that quite often they’re self-imposed.
The sky’s the only limit that matters, in the end, and from where you’re sitting on the eve of graduation? We’re predicting a future of clear, sunny and endless blue for as far as you want to go.
