Here at SFD, we know how one great result can impact other areas of your life. Just look at our Co-Founders Gen and Victoria! “The only reason I was able to achieve weight loss success was because my beautiful friend Gen shared her story with me,” says Victoria. “Weight loss can definitely be a sensitive topic, but I’m so grateful that Gen told me about intermittent fasting because without that conversation, I wouldn’t be the healthy, happy person that I am today.”
And Gen knows the power that one change can make too. “Once I felt like I had control over my weight, I started to see that success spill over into other areas of my life, like my relationships and my career. It gave me the confidence to share my story, to be on camera and to inspire others!”

5 Tips For Sharing Success
Dr. Tim Sharp, aka Dr. Happy, explains why sharing your success with others is a great way to achieve your own goals too. “You’ll be far more likely to achieve your goals if you include others in your plans. Numerous studies show that having a buddy increases the likelihood that people will stick to weight management programs… and keep up with pretty much any behaviour change program you can think of.” That’s why we highly recommend sharing the love by enlisting the support of a fast friend.
- Tell people what you’re doing: Sometimes it can be scary to admit you’re starting something new, but now that you’re seeing success, you may find it a bit easier. Not only will a little extra accountability go a long way for you, but it could inspire others to kick start their own success too. Take the time to explain intermittent fasting and the different methods to your friends and family. Sometimes the more that people understand something, the more supportive they’ll be. Explain the health benefits too, and your friends will begin to realise it’s not just about weight loss, but health and happiness too!
- Explain the ‘how’: people are more likely to jump on board with something they understand. So, rather than simply saying “I’m doing this great diet”, tell them what you do, when you do it and how. An example of what a fast day looks like for you, some of your favourite tips for overcoming #hangry times, the reasons why you chose intermittent fasting over another method, or even something simple like how to calculate calories from kilojoules could be a jumping off point for a conversation and a new fast friendship.
- Share your success story: One of the biggest ways that you can inspire others is by being open about your own story and your own success. If you love this way of life, then share the love! Whether that’s posting in the Members’ Facebook page, sharing your results with a friend, or asking a buddy to join you for a green tea or a regular fitness date.
- Pull, don’t push: True leaders lead by example. Rather than nagging or telling, show! Eat a healthy snack, go for a walk outside, bring a yummy low-calorie dessert to a dinner party… make good choices yourself and you’ll find that others around you will be inspired to follow. The more you can lift others up, the easier you’ll find sharing your success.
- Be a cheerleader: Encourage others by cheering them on. As you well-know, intermittent fasting can be difficult when you’re first starting out, so share the love by giving someone else a pep talk, encouraging someone through a difficult day, or offering a newbie suggestions on how to stay motivated. People love to be around other positive people, and you just may find that you become a magnet for even more success as a result.
The bottom line is, success breeds success. And the more you share that success, the more success you’ll see too! What are some ways that you’re sharing the love this week, Super Squad? Let us know by leaving a comment or cruising by the Members’ Facebook Page to share your tips.
